The United Football League (UFL) has had a few weeks of uncertainty, especially surrounding which teams will move before the 2026 season. However, UFL Co-Owner Mike Repole has confirmed the Birmingham Stallions have been saved.

After giving the team a goal of selling more than 5k season ticket packages, they might have reached their goal. Early last week, Repole was touting on X that the Stallions had already sold over 2,500 season ticket packages with more than 500 deposits in a single day. While this is a good start, the league hopes to draw 15k fans per game in Birmingham.
Last year, the Stallions struggled with filling the stands and had one game where only 4,774 fans attended (vs. Roughnecks). However, they did manage to draw an average of 10,255 fans per game over the course of the season. Â While there are still some hurdles, the team is apparently safe from relocation for the 2026 season.
Marlon Williams & Steve Linton Re-sign With Stallions
The Birmingham Stallions have ramped up their roster moves in recent weeks as they gear up for the 2026 season. Among the latest to re-sign are wide receiver Marlon Williams and defensive end Steve Linton, both of whom add valuable depth and consistency to the team’s lineup.
The Birmingham Stallions have already locked in eight returning players for the 2026 UFL season, reinforcing their core with familiar talent. Among those re-signed are quarterback Andrew Peasley and standout linebacker DeMarquis Gates, both expected to play key roles next season.
When Does The 2026 UFL Season Begin?
The exact start date for the 2026 UFL season hasn’t been announced yet. In fact, the only thing that has been confirmed is that the league will be back and will consist of a 10-game regular season followed by the USFL & XFL Championship, and of course, the UFL Championship held at the conclusion of the season.
Stallions Success
The Birmingham Stallions are the most decorated UFL team in the league with three combined championships, two from the previous USFL league, and the 2024 UFL Championship. Last year, the Stallions lost to the Michigan Panthers in the USFL Championship, ending what could have been a four-peat if you combine the two leagues.
The Stallions hope to continue winning in 2026, and fans hope their team to remain a staple in the local community.
