The United Football League (UFL) is changing as the league prepares for expansion, with numerous players departing for the NFL.
The XFL and USFL were initially envisioned as a feeder system for players who couldn’t quite cut in the NFL, or a second chance for some players who were on the cusp. Today, that logic rings true as numerous players are leaving the UFL for roles on NFL teams’ rosters and practice squads.
Both the USFL and XFL divisions have seen numerous players receive offers and participate in tryouts with NFL teams. Below, we will discuss some of the players who have already received offers and what to expect from the third UFL season.

The Future Of The UFL
The UFL has floated the idea of expansion in the 2025 offseason, with numerous markets proposed to be the next spot for a new team. Currently, there are only eight teams, with four in each of the XFL and USFL divisions. Supporters believe expansion could be key for the longevity of the league.
The UFL is also proposing a new free agency period to facilitate teams that are losing players to other football leagues.
Betting On UFL Football
Online XFL betting sites are offering odds for the 2026 XFL season with futures, props, and game lines. During the offseason, the odds are limited, but sites like Bovada and BetUS do have futures for the next UFL Championship.
Once the games are announced and team lineups are confirmed, game lines will become available for the upcoming competitions. Next year, we expect to see two new teams in the mix, but there has been no announcement as of now on where those teams will be located. Top cities in the running for a new squad include Seattle, Columbus, Louisville, and San Diego.
