The United Football League (UFL) has recently reported dismal attendance and TV ratings compared to 2024. However, fans are not concerned as the league is still in its growing phase.
While several of the UFL’s predecessors have failed in the past, the newly merged football league between the XFL and the USFL shows signs of longevity despite falling ratings and attendance.
According to reports, TV ratings for week 2 of the second UFL season fell by about 30 percent compared to week two of the 2024 season. Friday night’s game between the Stallions and Panthers on FOX averaged about 659k viewers. Other games for week two drew similar viewership but failed to top Friday night’s game average.
Even in St. Louis, the UFL’s best market for 2024, attendance for week two fell about 20% when 32k fans filled the stadium. The start of the UFL season has to compete with March Madness, the NBA, NHL, and the MLB opener for TV ratings.
While betting on the XFL and USFL divisions is still popular, many critics believe the numbers will soon have to trend upwards if investors are expected to keep the league afloat.
Can I Bet On The UFL Online?
Yes, most fans of the game bet online, as sportsbooks that cater to US players are prevalent in most states. With nearly 40 states now offering in-person sports betting, betting on UFL teams has taken a good chunk of the spring football sportsbook catalog.
Popular ways to bet on the UFL matchups include game line odds, futures, and proposition bets. Game line odds are available for the ten-week season and offer fans three ways to bet on the game: the spread, money line, and total odds. Once the season is complete, betting on the UFL playoffs will continue with more game lines and futures.
The UFL Championship is scheduled for Saturday, June 14th, 2025. The Birmingham Stallions are the defending champions and are still favored to win the 2025 season despite a rough start.
