On Friday night, the United Football League’s (UFL) new business director and league co-owner, finally dropped a clue about what’s next for the Birmingham Stallions, with his first update since July 31. Mike Repole mentioned that two to four teams in the spring football league might be moving before the 2026 season.
After Repole’s comments stirred things up, fans launched a petition on Change.org to keep the Stallions in Birmingham. By Friday night, it had racked up 2,365 verified signatures—and Repole even gave it a shoutout on his official X account.
There’s been a lot of buzz about which cities will host @TheUFL teams in 2026. The interest has been huge — and we’ve seen #SaveTheStallions everywhere.
I love the passion!!!!!But here’s the truth: hashtags and petitions don’t fill stadiums.

The Repole post said that next season, the UFL is aiming for 15,000 fans per game in Birmingham, and presumably for all other teams as well. Last season, the Stallions drew an average of 9,149 fans over six home games at Protective Stadium, down from 10,260 in their debut UFL season.”
Attendance Woes
According to Sports Illustrated, UFL attendance records have continued to decline since the 2023 inaugural season. The UFL did see substantial gains in numerous metrics after the XFL and USFL leagues merged in 2023.
The United Football League didn’t hit the exact numbers as the XFL did in 2023. Over 43 games played between late March and mid-June, the UFL pulled in an average crowd of 13,512. Altogether, the season brought in just under 581,000 fans. While some teams like the St. Louis Battlehawks saw record attendance for the league, others like the Memphis Showboats saw record lows, averaging just over 8k fans per game.
The Stallions drew 14,000 fans when they played St. Louis; however, their other home games drew 7,000 to 12,000 fans per game.
Betting Odds For The 2025 UFL Season
XFL betting sites have yet to post season odds or futures for the upcoming XFL season. With rumors of teams moving and expansion, most legitimate sports betting sites are waiting for more details before offering odds for the upcoming season.
Typically, UFL futures are available months before the season starts, and game lines become available a week or so before the start of the season. While the UFL has seen substantial growth with online sports bettors, the NFL’s estimated handle is over $100 billion globally. The UFL’s handle is estimated to be in the low millions according to numerous reports. However, betting on the XFL Championship and the USFL Championship game has sparked interest globally.
