Mike Repole Outlines Louisville’s Role in UFL’s Next Steps

a UFL logo over a map of the USAUFL co-owner Mike Repole recently spoke with the media about what fans can expect from both the league and the newly established Louisville Kings. His comments shed light on the timeline for announcements and the league’s evolving structure.

  • Coaching staff: A head coach announcement is anticipated in December.
  • Team identity: Uniforms are expected to be unveiled around the same time, with rosters revealed in early January.
  • League schedule: The official UFL schedule should be released in January, as the league coordinates around MLS and USL fixtures.
  • Mascot creation: Fans are actively participating in designing a mascot, which should be finalized by January.

Further League Developments

Repole also discussed roster adjustments. Training camp squads may begin with 60 players, trimmed to 45 for the regular season. This would mark a shift from the 50-man format used in past seasons.

Additionally, the league is developing a “Right of Refusal” system that gives teams priority access to athletes within a 100-mile radius. Repole emphasized that this approach should allow fans to see familiar names, local high school standouts, or college players on their hometown rosters.

The UFL has already made significant operational changes, parting ways with its eight general managers and former executive vice president Daryl Johnston. While current rosters remain unchanged, the new rights system is expected to apply to incoming talent for the 2026 season.

Kings Season Tickets

The Louisville Kings will play their first UFL season at Lynn Family Stadium in spring 2026, offering fans season ticket packages that cover all five home games. Prices range from budget-friendly standing-room options around $12 per game to premium club seating at $128 per game, which includes food, drinks, and exclusive stadium access.

Membership perks feature priority playoff ticket access, flexible payment plans, and special fan events. Suites and group packages are also available, making tickets accessible for both casual supporters and corporate outings.

New UFL Teams For 2026 Season

For the 2026 season, three new UFL teams will join the league: the Columbus Aviators, Louisville Kings, and Orlando Storm. These teams replace the Memphis Showboats, Michigan Panthers, and San
Antonio Brahmas as part of a significant restructuring effort.

The league also announced rebrands for two legacy clubs: the Arlington Renegades returning to the Dallas Renegades name, and Houston shifting to the Gamblers.
